To coincide with Converses’ 110 year anniversary, the Converse Compendium is the definitive guide that details the brands iconic rise to fame.
Acting as a historical time-line for the brand, the compendium not only catalogues the brands 110 year product range, but discusses the turbulent life of this once small town rubber-sole manufacturer.
I began by taking inspiration from the Converse’s classic ‘All Star’ trainer, a design synonymous with the brand that has remained relatively unchanged over the companies history.
To be true to the brand and the ‘creative sub-cultures’ that adorn Converse so proudly, the compendium was screen printed in the brands 3 iconic colourways, hand-finished on a canvas woven paper and bound using shoe-laces with eyelet detailing.
The branding is obviously a key feature of the trainer
The stripes which run along the sole are iconic to Converse
The eyelet venting was an innovation that cooled athletes feet
The robust canvas offered protection and durability
